h4831sc max load for .270

I can not seem to find anywhere in my books or internet that max load for h4831sc for 140gr hornady sst. Is the max charge the same for h4831? are they the same powder one is just "short cut"?

they are designed to have similiar burn characteristics, but they are structually differene.

I'd start a few grains light and work up to your load, as a safety precaution. that is what I do when I go from a normal cut to a "short cut" powder.

"Similar" burn characteristics? You must know something Hodgdon does not....

Below is excerpted from Hodgdon's website:

H4831SC - Ballistically, this Extreme Extruded powder is the exact copy of H4831

I've used both an primarily all SC now. According to Hog. the data is interchangeable from what I recall a few years back. I've used it that way in my 7RM on all loads I've developed. But when in doubt a call or email to the manufacturer is best. They often times even share load tips/suggestions if you tell them what your looking for.
