Re: IMR 8208 XBR

When it came out, there was a lotta hoopala about its consistency, particularly in the PPC. It was said to be very similar to the old T32, and other benchrest favorites. I bought a pound right away, tried it in 22-250 and 6mmBR so far and it has shown me nothing. Have not shot a PPC in 3 years, may have to switch barrels and try it.

The 8208 sits beside a can of IMR4007 - both will gather dust for quite a while. Now Alliant is coming out with several new powders; buyer beware.

I've tried alot of newer powders and have not found them to be as good as they were stated to be.

Re: IMR 8208 XBR

I have had some good luck with it in my Encore barrels.. 17 Fireball...both 20 grain V-Max and the Hornady 25 Grain HP, 22250 50 grain Silvertips, 308 Win , I just reloaded some 223 this evening but not for Encore barrels.. Will have to see how it shoots in Savage 223's.
