338-06

I just bought a 338-06. Looking for load suggestions and any info about this caliber. What is the difference between the 338-06 and 338-06 A Square. Thanks!

The A Square is just the saami version. It was a wildcat until then. I have a 338-06 AI and really like it. 210 partitions and H414 have proven to be a pretty impressive combo.

Thank you! I read somewhere there is a slight difference in the shoulder angle. Is that an issue? Not sure if this is true as I read it on the Internet...

The 338-06 A Square uses the same shoulder angle as the 30-06. Any pre standardized wildcat version would have likely done the same. If your rifle was chambered after A Square standardized the 338-06 (late 90's), I would certainly imagine it was done to saami specs.
