6.5 Creedmoor loading

I'm looking at getting a 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22" barrel. Hoping to shoot 140gr bullets. For those already loading this caliber, what powders are giving you the best results?

Go down to 120 grain, either TSX's or Partitions and good old gfashion H-4350 will be more than enough to smash anything you'd care to drill with it ...

I load 140 Berger VLD Hunting bullets on top of H4350. Over on the 6.5 creedmoor forum, H4350 is the powder of choice.

I just bought a savage trophy hunter 6.5 creedmoor 22 inch barrel I know you want to reload but if you don't have brass I bought Hornady American Whitetail ammo 129 gr. interlock after bore sighting the scope I sighted it in shots 10,11,12 dead nuts .75 inch group that's shooting from a not so good rest so if your not dead set on reloading give them a try

I did get one. A Ruger American Predator. I've owned a couple Savages and done well with them. You're experience is what I would expect. 3 years ago I wanted a cheap rifle and took a chance with a TC Venture. I didn't really like it when I bought it, but got it on the advise of a gun smith friend of mine. Wow was I impressed. I love that gun. Have seen a lot of good reviews on the Ruger. I was gonna rebarrel a Savage 308 that I have with a Shilen drop in, but decided to take a chance on the Ruger and see if it doesn't do as well as the Thompson Center. I did't buy any ammo, I will order brass and dies and hand load everything. If it shoots well, I will compete in 2,3, and 500yd groundhog shoots with it next summer. Glad to hear you're doing well with yours, anxious to see what mine will do.
