38 spl load

I am looking for a load for my 38spl. Its a revolver with a 2" barrel. I would like to use bullets I already have on hand (110gr jhp and 158gr semi wadcutter)and would like something to plink at the range with.

Re: 38 spl load

I use bullseye in my 38 loads. I mostly use 158gr semi wadcutter I cast myself. I'm thinking I use around 4 grains of powder. I know there are a lot better loads out there, but I was given the powder years ago.

I shoot a ruger GP100. Between the weight of the gun and the tiny powder charge the recoil is all but nil with my load.

Re: 38 spl load

I have used Bullseye, but am now using W-231, I am not sure of the weight, I think about 3.5 grains-it is a mild, fun to shoot load out of my Smiths.

Re: 38 spl load

I use Titegroup in my 38 spec loads.

I typically use lead bullets purchased online of somewhere.

When I shoot 38's I want a nice mild shooting accurate load, that is cheap to reload. A light 38 out of a 6" 357 gun is very mild to shoot

I used Clays when loading for SASS shooting.
