7mm WSM???

Anyone load for this? I just started reloading for a buddy. This round has a couple challenges. The first is that the neck is so short, I had trouble with bullets seating tight enough. Had to really mess with the resizing to get it right. The other is that my powder funnel doesn't fit over the neck tightly. The powder can run over the sides of the case mouth. I had to fabricate a funnel for it.

Anyone else load for this and do you have similar challenges?

I did not face the challenges you did. I faced them when attempting to find an accurate load. I was unsuccessful. In finding a load my M70 Classic stainless liked, best was 1 inch at 100. I was hoping to shoot a heavy 160. It did not like the sierra bullet I fed it. I will be trying 140's next.

RCBS makes a green special funnel just for all the short mags...it's a great round, for the most part just about like it's longer brother the rem mag, no animal will ever notice the difference. Just like any wsm or saum H-4350 is THE powder that seems to work well in all short mags. I load for several types of short mags but never load heavy bullets because of the short neck, just USE good partitions/x-bullets in the medium weight range and you'll be fine..140 grain is perfect. Take a little advice, get yourself NOW as much brass as you can afford, the future looks cloudy especially for anything other than the 300 wsm, a few companies are starting to make brass but I'd rather be safe than sorry later. Midway did have some 50 bags available but I haven't seen any Rem/WW 50 bags for it in years, factory ammo is outrageous and I don't think it will be long before a $50-75 might be needed, it's around $40 now, just the times we live in....but it is a great cartridge to hunt with.

Another challenge with this cartridge is finding brass for it. I was looking at purchasing a gun in this caliber for my son but after a quick search I couldn't find any brass. Decided to a different route now.

Never had any problems with reloading or accuracy with 160gr accubonds

My buddy ended up getting two boxes of factory ammo for it. So, now we have 60 rounds of brass and all off-season to play with it.
