Trying 165 gr. Sierra BTs in a 308 .

Over the years iv'e used 165s but these were flat base bullets. I have on hand a few Hornady and Remingtons. The Hornadys shot the best from my 308 -700 Rem. They grouped very very well but when things got scarce i had 150s and just kept using them.
The 700 has not been in the woods for 10 years because i got a 110 Savage and an Axis both are 30-06s. 3 years ago i bought a 308 Axis and just now decided to play with it.
I hope the BTs are handled by this rifle.

I used many Sierra 165 BTs and they shot fine and dropped deer right now. Used them in my .300 Win mag and shot an honest 2 inch group at 300 yards many years ago.

Use them in both 308 and 30-06 with good results.

Are you really old enough to remember when there were huntable numbers of deer on public land?

I've handloaded Hornady 165gr BTSP's in my .30/06 for years.

I've loaded that bullet in a number of 30 cal cartridges. I was always able to get a load of reasonable accuracy. I've also taken some deer with it and had good bullet performance.
