.308 loads

i have a savage bolt action .308 and im gunna start loading for it what are you guys shooting, powder? primer? bullet? grains all info appreciated

Aim small to miss small and put a RAGE in the cage.

I use 150gr Hornady Spire Points with 49grs of Win. 748. Fed 210 primers and Winchester cases.

The .308 was designed for 4895 Type Powder. Varget is the top choice of .308 Long Range Shooters. For Hunting start with any 150 Grain Bullet. Personally I like the Sierra 150 Grain Spitzer Boattail, Varget, and Federal 210 Match Primers for Fighting the "G" - Hog. For Long Range I use the 168 Hornady A-Max.

Federal match brass, Federal match primers,44 Grs. Varget and top it off with 168 Gr.BTHP Match works good in my M1A and great in my Ruger 77

168 NoslerCC
Winc LR Primer
2.80 OAL

also can use 168 SMK or 168 AMAX

My all time favorite deer load is 45 gr of varget behind a 165gr hornady flat base interlock.I usually use cci br primers
