Berdan Primers

Anyone know where I can pick up some .250 Berdan Primers. I know they are as scarce as hen's teeth, and Berdan casings are a ROYAL PAIN to reload, but I have a .303 British that I acquired and along with it came 100 casings all deprimed and cleaned up. Problem is they are the old Berdan style, but I'm chomping at the bit to throw some powder and lead in them to go out and "play"! I've got a tip online already about some, but you have to order them from, I think, Australia and you have to buy 5,000! I can't see having that many laying around for a long period of time, and quite frankly, I just don't have that kind of cash to throw around right now. The berdan are actually cheaper than boxer to manufacture, but the tariff fees for shipping from overseas is horrendous! And there are many different sizes of Berdan as compared to the Boxer's two (for rifle). Any help would be greatly apprediated!

If I only coulda' seen into the future!

Re: Berdan Primers

You might want to convert them to boxer primers. Here is the method: http://users.ameritech.net/mchandler/primer.html

If not, read this:

Re: Berdan Primers

Yep....already read both of those....the first won't work because the primer pockets on the cartridges I have are a .250 opening, so the ball bearing won't squeeze the brass out enough to make the .210 opening....and I already read the number 2 dimension post....but thanks a heap anyway!

If I only coulda' seen into the future!
