I have also had VERY GOOD customer service from Remington. Had a old 11-87 that just needed some TLC, sanding down some burrs, etc. from lots of use. The sling was rusted to the peg in the stock, so I couldn't get it off(which your supposed to do when you ship it back). I put a note in there apologizing for not being able to get the sling off. Got the gun back, total charge was about $30 for the work they did. But for whatever reason, the sling was rust free, and there was a brand new stock on it. They wrote on my note and left it in the box, just said "no problem, we took care of the sling problem". I was pretty impressed.
