Sat eve both hunting beagles found traps and got caught.

Both released and OK over 24 hrs later.

Another day in paradise. God hunts on Sundays.

Re: Caught.

Glad to hear they're OK. Our female got caught in a snare about a month ago. Luckily we heard her and could tell something was wrong as she was just about passed out and nearly choked to death. I was not happy to say the least as it was before the season started for snares and there was no name on it.

Re: Caught.

It was probably an illegal snare too. I don't think PA approved cable restraints will kill an animal. I might be wrong but I think dispatch snares are illegal in PA.

Re: Caught.

Pa legal snares will not lock up tight. If the animal pulls they will tighten but when the animal stops pulling, the snare loosens up.

Re: Caught.

some of the lock used for cable restraints and say beaver snares are the same the difference is in how they are set. CR need to be set were nothing big can entangle them. then its just like a choker chain. I have snared quite a few beaver this year and all have been alive when i got there. even the ones i tried to tangle up.

Now your diggin' where the 'tators are!
