Training scents

Any guys or gals out there use rabbit scent to get your puppies interested in rabbits? When do you introduce them , also any tricks of the trade you all use to get your pup started would be helpful.

Re: Training scents

Never can be too early to play with a rabbits foot. This should be a beagles first toy. Than hide and seek with the foot. So much can be done before even going outside for that first rabbit walk. Waugh!

AR is only a pacifier. You will never grow if it's not in your genes.

Re: Training scents

Don't waste your time on the rabbit scent in a bottle. I don't doubt that it stinks, but does it stink like a live rabbit? I doubt it. I've never had my full grown dogs show any interest in it.

Best thing would be just to wait until you can just go for walks or get yourself a big dumb meat rabbit that runs from the pup for a bit.

I trapped wild rabbits for all my pups in a live trap and showed it to them. Usually all it takes.
