Hey fellas. For Christmas this year I got my dad a boar hunt on the pig farm located in butler pa. He has a bad back and we will be hunting from a blind (I am going to spectate). Anyone have any info or have done it before and can tell us what to expect or just share the story of your hunt?? Good or bad it would be appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time.

It's a fenced hunt, pig walks by your blind and you shoot it. Enjoy the meat.

deerpusher,

Some folks just don't understand there is more to the hunt than just the kill. That's a great gift to get your dad and I hope you have a great memorable time.

Good Luck

What more is there to understand about this hunt? I'm not condemning it, I hope they have a great time and get to take home some tasty wild boar meat to enjoy.

Great gift for your dad, good way to spend some time with your dad in a blind waiting on a porker. Anyone on this forum who has lost their dad would give anything for one more hunt no matter if its high fence or not. Good Luck

I think the name of the farm is the same as the subject of this thread.

So, you ever hunt on one of these places?

What makes this hunt any different then when you go to Texas or South and shoot them over bait?

Who's cat fighting? All's good, I think somebody just read much more into my comment than was ever written or implied. You sit in a blind and shoot a pig that comes by. Not much different than sitting in a blind waiting to shoot a deer, or a bear except you're guaranteed to have an opportunity to harvest a 200lb of larger boar. No judgement here, just fact. I hope he and his dad have a fun and come home with enough pork chops, ribs and roasts to fill both of their freezers.

Sorry I can't help you at all with your questions but if you could post about you and your dads experience when you're done (or PM me) I'd appreciate it. I never knew the place existed and taking a boar with my bow is something I've long wanted to do. It looks like on their website it's only $375. Butler is close enough for me to drive so I'd probably be able to do it with very little cost involved.

$750 is what I saw on their site and according to the brochure "hunts start at $600."

I did something similar on Mohr's Island for my nephew's graduation present. He and I had a blast and the smile on his face was priceless.

Well I believe that's not the only place nor the only time this place has been discussed. I think I recall it being discussed on here in the not so distant past. Yes, Larry Lint is still the owner.
