Took a 4pt probably mid 80's, Dec 26. Maybe some remember the day, it was incredibly warm. From the walk in and climb up my hemlock I was only wearing a T shirt. It was around 75yd, somewhat difficult because I had to shoot through a small opening. Wasn't sure I hit it as it just ran away. Went over and there was a massive blood trail. Think it went about 150 yards. No pics but I have the skull plate and antlers.

I think the biggest challenge in all of PA hunting is to harvest a legal buck with the flintlock. Congratulations to those that have accomplished such!!

I have harvested 3 buck with my flintlock. Im currently 16 years old. This is my absolute favorite weapon to hunt with. It takes alot of practice but there is nothing more exciting and rewarding than harvesting a deer with a flintlock. This is the first year in 3 years I will not have a buck tag going into late season, being I harvested a nice 8 in archery. However, I saved all my doe tags and will be out there.

09-10 Season Spike. Shot the second day of late season. 15 yards. Not the biggest but it was my first flintlock buck.

10-11 Season 6 Point, After passing up a big half rack 5 point earlier in the day, I was kicking myself being that it was the last day. Then in the last 10 minutes of the entire season this guy showed up and I dropped him. Its not the biggest buck ive taken but this is my most memorable and I will never forget this hunt and the emotion surrounding it.

11-12 Season 6 Point, Harvested in the last week of the season. After not being able to get a shot at a much bigger buck 45 minutes earlier, this guy came strolling in and offered me a perfect 25 yard shot and I could not pass it being that time was running out and the season was soon over in 3 days.

Hopefully I will have another successful late season and will fill some doe tags. Good Luck to all the hunters still looking for a buck and what ive learned is dont give up. You never know what will show up in the last week... or even the last 10 minutes...

Its on my bucket list for sure. Last year took care of my bucket list to shoot a deer with a shotgun. Took care of that now the last weapon I havn't taken a deer with is the flinter. Shooting a deer with the bow is easy by comparison.
