I'm new at grouse hunting & was wondering if hunting was better at a certain time during the day? Normally I can get out for an hour or so around 2:30pm. But it looks like early tomorrow morning will be the only time I can get out until next Friday.

I tend to think food and cover hold more bearing on where and when but try southern facing slopes, sun hits them first in the AM.

Brad,
Try evening Grouse hunting, from around 4PM till closing time, you will be surprised how many Grouse are on the ground feeding at that time, especially around the edges of old Potter County logging roads.

Last hour of the day is generally agreed upon as being the best, however I get out when I can get out and hope for the best. Ain't gonna kill none at 11 AM if you're sitting in camp!

Big Don,
You bet the best time to hunt is any time you can.
