Ive been seeing a doe with a yearling, the doe has a tag in each ear. There is a preserve about a mile and a half away which would be a logical explanation.. but i was wondering if anyone knows of a pgc program that tags deer? Hoping one of the kids gets a crack at her to help solve the mystery. So far no shot opportunities with the crossbow.

I do know the PGC tags deer, usually it's a $100 tag. That would be great for one of the kids. As far as what the tags look like, I'm not sure. But somebody will advise. I think they do put one in each ear, in case one falls off.

maybe if its from a farm leave it go until a year or two and maybe youll see big bucks in a few years.

Been seeing the ear tags in the Armstrong County area for a few years, got these pics on camera couple years ago, and have seen them this Fall also, and know of a few being shot. I think its $100 reward if you call the number on the tag to report to PGC.

Thanks.. those tags dont look like the one we've been seeing one tag overlaps the top of the ear and is yellow. The other tag is circular and is in the middle of the ear.

My brother in law shot a tagged one 2 years ago I believe. Was a small circular tag. It has a # to call to report and it was a $100 tag. It is a research study of some sort I believe, in connection with Penn State U. The # he called to provide the info was a number at Penn State U. We also ran into a DCNR fellow and a college student once and were talking to them about what they were doing and they were setting traps to catch and tag deer... the student was of course, from Penn State U.
