Okay crossbow enthusiasts. The 2012/2013 archery season is right around the corner.

Please post your harvest pics in this thread. Always nice to see some information on the harvest such as bow used, broadhead, county etc... Include your story as well or start a seperate thread detailing your hunt.

To keep the thread clean and easy to view, only pics will be allowed. Comments in response to pictures will be deleted from this thread. There will be a seperate thread for comments and congratulations.

Good luck everyone!!

Shot 9-17-12 @ 5:31pm North Strabane with Excalibur Vixen II with Boltcutter broadheads. 8 yard shot, recovered 28 yards from stand.

I got in the stand around 3:30 pm and started seeing these deer at about 4:45. They fed directly underneath and behind me for 45 minutes then the lead doe presented a nice quartering away shot. @ 5:31 I let the vixen loose, compete pass through slicing through both lungs and exiting through the front right leg slicing through the bone. The doe only ran 20 yards and immediately expired. Had it butchered and everything cleaned up by 9pm. Wish all of my hunts would go that smoothly!

Colton got her about 7:45. He gave a free pass at daybreak to a small buck and a fawn, but when this yearling doe came thru he decided that was enough free passes. Now he said he can concentrate on his buck. He shot her with the Excal Vortex with victory arrows and ABC bolt sonic broadheads.

9/29/12 - 5:45p - Wicked Ridge Raider CLS - Rage 2 Blade Crossbow Broadhead

After a number of years "off", I decided to get back into hunting this year to spend time with my Dad, Mom, and Brother. This is the first deer that I've ever gotten in archery. I watched this doe for a good 20-30 minutes, and it seemed she was heading in the wrong direction, but then took a u-turn and gave me a great look. I want to pass along a big THANK YOU to Arrowhead for setting me up with my crossbow earlier this year, and I'm very thankful that all three of the family members I mentioned above were there today to share this with me.

After 1 year and one day of starting his hunting career Johnny got his first buck. Well deserved. He gets what hunting is about.

Wow, what a short buck season!! Happy to have scored but now what?? frown

Fulton Co. Pa. public land 8:15am - This buck was all by himself, he came up the mt from below me. He passed about 25 yds to my right when I mouth bleated to stop him. I put the 20yd crosshair a little high and let it fly.

He ran about 40 yds and fell over. I got a good pass thru on both lungs. I waited for dad to come over from his stand and we walked up to check him out.

It was a great morning and I couldn't be more happy with this buck just very sad to be done buck hunting for the season. I guess that will give me plently of time for other things, maybe some trapping will be in my future this season.

I'm shooting a Excal Ibex with the Excal 150 gr broadheads.

Me.

Dad
