Turned it off. The link went dead about 20 minutes into the deer section stuff. Up, down - they must have closed and rebooted the link - up down and now just down.
I'll tune in again tomorrow. Hope things work better.

Dick did well this morning, picked up lots of applause and many Thank Yous in the lobby. Claims he's fishing now that he's retired.
Majority of the "testimony" this morning, from wild boar operations upset over the proposed EO banning importation of and raising of "feral swine".
Got many things to do today, didn't make it back for the deer presentation. Was nice to finally meet Dick and shake his hand. Heck, John S even showed up for Dick's award. Musta been a big deal. LOL Congrats to Dick!

I'll tune in again tomorrow. Hope things work better. Ya know, I am always impressed when I listen to these guys. Rosenberry was great and Gustafson great as well. Interesting thing, they not only check deer numbers thru their regular estimating process, but also check them with the Game Take Survey and then, the last 2 years, they sent out survey questions to deer hunters. All three sets of data, backed up their deer harvest estimates. Funny to, in 1995, 60% of hunters thought there were to few deer. In 2011, 64% of hunters thought there were to few deer. Imagine that? Commissioner Weaner may have had am "ah ha" moment when he realized that no matter what the PGC did, 60 some percent of hunters would never have enough deer.

Could that be translated to say that one third of the hunters are right two thirds of the time? Is the converse also true?

...I had to laugh out loud when he brought that data from the mid 90's up....how soon people forget I will say this, in 1995, we had just gone thru HR in the state, the first one. In Tioga County, on public lands, we went from tons of deer to very few. So, the timing of that survey also correlates to a time after a major herd reduction, so, I'd not be surprised that 60% were upset. It was about 96 or 97 when I went to my first PGC meeting, Po'd because of not enough deer. Had they taken that survey in 1985 or 1986, the percentages MAY have been different. Just sayin'.......
