I am looking for a good durable dog crate. Not collapsible unless it is built very well. And not those $500+ crates not petschmo or petsmart garbage.

Was just in Ollies in Hbg. and they had some for $50 - Remington brand, plastic 2 piece crates. The decent metal cages I've seen run wellover $100 and seem to be powder coated. Can't name any brands I'd recommend there tho - mine are yard sale recoveries!

It's hard to go wrong with a Vari-Kennel.

Irish Joe,
I like the quality of the Vari-Kennel also, the Rem is a little light, I have many of both for all our different gun dog breeds and find the Remington Cages decent for Setters but for GSP's and Weimars they don't hold up well and often fail at the bottom near the cage door hole. The Vari-Kennel is a much higher quality flight kennel. Never had one fail yet.
I also like the older Pet Porter flight cages, I do beleive Vari-Kennel owns them also because they are really identical engineering.

Pine Creek/Dave

Couple of Pet Porter/Petmate older Blue Kennels in different sizes, with the sand colored Remington cage in the back ground.

The newer Pet Porters have the spin wheel locks on them which are nice for breaking the kennels down quickly.

Watch the website videos. If I was buying, this is what I would get for sure!

Thanks for all the input.
That rufftough looks the way to go. How I train my dogs they end up loving the crates and go in and out of them with there own freewill.I keep them in the mud room. So they get plenty off use and end up cracking, Plastick ones. I had a pet porter but it cracked because my Labradoor always liked sleeping on top of it. They lasted for a few years then the plastic became brittle. I will also check out the Vari-Kennel. I am willing to spend a around $200 if it will out last the dogs.

x2 on the Ruff Tough crates.
I have two of them for our two dogs, both German Shorthairs. Also have the brackets for joining the two together & tieing down in back of pick-up bed.

Great crates & also Made-In-USA.

I love the plastice creates. I got one out of the trash that someone was throwing out and it is great for my dogs. It did not have the screws to pice together, so I used electrically ties and I have it for 3 years now.

wfcjr,
The RT kennels are great stuff, was going to order one because they can be purchased with doors on each end, which I needed, a friend gave me one so I did not have to order a new one. Great piece of engineering no doubt about it, little on the expensive side, if you need 6 cages however.
