Can you break that down showing production on private/state land and that produced on property controlled by feds? I think you will find that the small increase in production is the result of increased production on properties Obowwow has no influence over.

BTW: When did dems regain control of congress and influence leases on fed property.

Guess the only answer is for oil companies to be state run then, eh? They have already taken control of 2/3 of the auto industry, and are well on their way to controlling the majority of healthcare in this country, why not take over the oil industry?

Perhaps they can take over Apple next and drive down the cost of Iphones and Ipads so that we can all afford one and so Apple isn't making those "obscene profits".

Us selling oil on the world market is a good thing. It brings foreign capital onto American shores.

I don't know of one guvmn't program that can say the same.

Without that influx of wealth, America is a big fat economic ZERO.

Maybe next time we dream up something like Solyndra we should ask the French or Saudis to finance it....

Maybe all the arrogant "I'm so smart I'm a Democrat" liberals who own Apples can put their money where their mouth is and demand Obama force Apple to manufacture Apples entire lineup on American soil? I'd love to see that- $8,000 i-pads. $3,000 iphones. They'd be marching on DC and throwing Molotovs at the factories demanding the factories move back to China.

Oil production - I don't know why anyone is even saying the oil companies are rigging this to make obscene profits. Their marching orders have changed and they need to get w/the program. Obama himself said it's world supply/demand, not gouging.

Tip your hat to the oil companies then for being so successful and patriotic. You're re enforcing my argument that the oil companies are the real control not the political establishment. Their huge success in taking more money out of your pocket hardly qualifies for a redeeming new fresh look at the morality of business.

is the politcal establishment or the oil companies keeping oil companies from more domestic production? unless somethings in the way, wouldn't oil companies produce more domestic oil? their product is worth more than it's ever been, why wouldn't they want to produce more?

If the guvmn't ran the oil companies, they could do no wrong.
