I love the my diaphrams. All i need in the turkey woods. I do however love the sound from my slate and old lynch box but all i really need is my mouth calls. Once you find one that fits you just right iys hard to beat

I'll take the slate over any other turkey call...its just what I have the best results with...also an aluminum faced one...then the box call...I can't use mouth calls I gag on em...I've been practicing with a wigbone but I stink
the harder the are to locate..the more i like hunting em

I think a slate (plain old slate, not glass, crystal or aluminum) in the right hands is the ultimate turkey call. Back off 75 yards from a good caller and its amazing how real they sound!

My preference is my Cody Spec 1 and World Class.
I don't hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt turkeys because I have to.

I like slate or glass walnut pots, hard to beat.

kinda off the topic but not really. to me the best calls are the ones you make yourself. my favorite and my best call is a box call i made 30 years ago. i also carry a few slate calls i made that work real well. the are made from old roof slate and old chaulk board slate. you can make strikers from different woods and in different shapes and sizes. nothing any more satisfying than calling in birds with your own calls.

I prefer mouth calls first but as of late am more interested in friction calls, more especially, the scratch box
