I just got myself a meat grinder and I want to grind up some venison into burger. I was wondering what ratio of fat to meat you guys use, or do you just mix it with a high fat ground beef?

When I get mine cut they mix it with pork
1 lb pork to 2 lbs of vension

Where did you get the vension? Just kiddin.

Some guys don't add a thing, others add pork to change the flavor.
Just experiment and make it to your tasting.

it depends what you are going to use it for. i dont mix anything. i use mine to make jerky, chili, meatloaf, spaghetti, etc. i'll mix pork or beef in to it later for some recipes. my jerky is always straight ground venison.

I like my burger as just venison, I'll mix in some egg, garlic, worsh. sauce and other stuff depending on what I'm in the mood for (blue cheese crumbles, hot peppers, etc...)
Why ruin it with pork or beef? But to each their own, enjoy your success.

75% venison
25% beef

i found london broil on sale a couple weeks ago cheap and bought them to grind and add to my vension. makes a nice burger.

I used to add beef and never really liked it all that much. Now I don't add anything at all and my whole family loves it.
