This thread is for Buck Pool entries for hunters 17 years of age and up only! All other posts will be deleted.

To enter the HPA buck pool just post a picture of you and your buck, and include a sign, decal, or something in the picture that says "HunitngPA 2011" or "HPA 2011". That is all it takes to be in the running for the grand prizes.All pictures may be entered, and there will also be prizes for those, but to be eligible for the grand prizes get that sign, decal, or whatever, and have HuntingPa 2011, or HPA 2011 in your picture.You must signify 2011.Remember photo edits will not be accepted this year.

The contest goes all the way til the end of the regular late archery/flintlock season. SO any PA AR legal buck can be entered from 10/1/2011 - 1/16/2012. Winners will be chosen randomly from the entire buck pool in late January, so antler size does not matter, ENTER ALL BUCKS, they all have equal chance at winning.

REMEMBER YOU MUST HAVE "HuntingPA 2011, or HPA 2011" NOTED SOMEWHERE IN THE PIC ENTRY, also try to take the best picture possible.Your smile, the scenery all make for a great picture.

This is all about showing our pride for HuntingPa, and sharing our buck harvest pictures with our HPA family, along with some great prizes from HPA, members, and sponsors.Prizes will be coming in throughout the season.

With the pic you can include any stats you want, including county killed, weapon used, time, etc...but if you want to tell the entire story please we HIGHLY encourage you to start your own thread on your hunt so members can reply etc.

8 Point taken in 2D with a Stryker 380 Crossbow. 47 yard shot, he ran about 10 feet.

Forgot the HPA sign until it was too late. I shot him with the Parker Buckbuster 175, with victory arrows with lumenoks and American Broadhead Company Bolt Sonic Broadheads. He ran about 50 yards, stood there for a few seconds and fell over dead. Double lunged him.

Best Buck to date

Here is my entry. Date's on the pic (time's an hour off, if that's important, lol). Didn't even think of the HPA sign thing until after the fact, so I guess I'm only in the running for the smaller prizes, but that's ok.





(Sorry about the blood in the snow...I can try to retouch the pics to take it out, but these are the unedited pics for authenticity's sake. With snow on the ground, I kept trying to cover the blood with more snow, but one drop and it shows like that again.)

Wish it would have been in the daylight, but I just had to get some pics in the snow!

I have that pic in full-res version, but it'll blow up the forum layout if I post that. If that's needed for the contest, let me know where to email/send it.

EDIT: Gross score on the antlers is 102" as I measured it. Would have probably edged over 110" if he hadn't had his beams busted off. He girthed 43", but I forgot to measure him before gutting him. I didn't split the sternum all the way up so it probably was accurate. Chart says that's 234lbs. live, which I'd believe. He was a big boy.

I killed this Buck in Berks County the first week of October.
It was a 6 yard shot and a complete pass through. I was using my 47# Shakespeare Super Necedah recurve. My cedar arrow was tipped with a 1957 Bear Razorhead. Recovered the deer in less then 20yards.

8 point-last day of rifle season. 7 buck walked past after the neighbours drove out a field. ranging from spikes to 8 pointers. This was the biggest I saw

A little late to the game here...

I've killed a few bucks with the bow before, but this is my first rifle-killed buck. Mainframe 8-point with a small droptine, 16" inside spread, 153lbs field dressed. Judging from the teeth, likely a 3.5-year-old buck. Shot just before lunchtime on opening day.

Another great day in the woods with my best huntin' buddy, Dad.

Hello everyone -
I shot a small 8pt back on November 4th this past archery season. My son came home from college for a couple days the during the gun season, he had not been out deer hunting since the 2005 season since he's been busy with school. He ended up shooting a nice doe Friday mornign December 9th and then shot his first buck ever the next morning on Saturday the 10th. Here are some pics including the one for the buck pool this year. Congrats to everyone on the season this past year and thanks to HuntingPA.com for the great website.
