Anyone know of any game bird farms that have mature or nearly mature quail for sale around central PA. I need 18 and my usual supplier is out.

Thanks.

You are probably going to have a hard time finding mature birds now, many breeders do not carry birds after the regulatd hunting ground season is over because of the cost of feeding them.

That's my supplier that is out. They have 6-week old and I suppose I'll go with them as I'd give them about 2 weeks to establish their recall pens as home, and then begin using with a ten week old pup on a check cord.
Thanks.

I received an email from them yesterday saying that they still had some older Quail available plus the 6 week old birds. They must have sold them between now and then.

Generally all the breeders have young birds that are ready to go outside around the 4 th of July. Give them a couple of weeks to get acclimated before you use them!!

There is a active poster on Harrisburg Craigslist in the Farm and Garden section that is selling quail. I believe for $5 a piece.
