This is a far better fourm for this question,

Want to make a Gun / Bow rack out of the Legs.

How do you keep the hoofs at a 90 degree angle ?

Whats the best way to cure ?

After removal from deer tie foot 90 degrees to leg forming right angle. Then take a piece of wire and remove all the marrow from centre of leg bone. Fill cavity with salt, let dry for a month or more.

While those methods will work, you are asking for trouble with bugs later on. If it will just be in your garage, and you Ok with that you will be fine.

If it is something you will want to display in your house I would suggest that the legs be freeze dried.
