The PA trapping regs say you "cannot set a conibear outside a watercourse, waterway, marsh, pond, or dam." I've had a PGC employee tell me that the conibears must be totally submerged within the above. I've also been told that conibears are legal on land if 160 or smaller AND used inside a bucket or wooden made enclosure. I've read the regs until I'm confused. Can somebody who's in the know help me out, please?

must be IN a Watercourse...

Just set them below the high water mark of a creek/stream/river and you Would be fine...

DON'T EVEN ASK WHAT A WATERCOURSE IS!!!

At a trapping school run by the PTA a pa game Comm officer told us that bucket sets are illegal because they are visible from the air. However a Conie needs to be in a "watercourse" but a watercourse is determined by the officer that finds your trap. GO TRAPPING !!

NOW, That there is a New 1!!

BAIT isn't Visable from the Air, but the bucket IS...so, if buckets are looked at as the "Bait" by that WCO....Then a PVC Pipe would be just the same seeing it is Visable from the air and has the bait shoved down in it!
Guess you could say Cubby sets are illegal aswell if they are looking at those buckets as bait... them there cubbies depending on what you use to make them are visable from the air, but the Bait Isn't!

HUM, what about them old tires we put the trap in the middle and the bait back in the tire?? That tire is Visable from the air!

WOW, Buckets are illegal because they are visable yet the bait isn't...that 1 takes the cake!
