Wild Hogs in PA?

I am sitting here watching a show called "Hogs Gone Wild" on the discovery channel. Does anyone in PA have these wild hogs running around their property? I am interested to find out. I was offered to go to Florida and GA to kill as many as i would like at a farm/ranch because of property damage... Does our state (PA) let you kill these hogs if they are in our state???

Thanks for reading...

Re: Wild Hogs in PA?

Check out the show "Pig Bomb"

PA has them.

If I see one I'm eating bacon.

Another day in paradise. God hunts on Sundays.

Saw the show also..how'bout them Russion boars ??!!they look like they can do some harm.Far as I understand....the position/law by PGC is that they do NOT want them shot/hunted (officially) at this time cause they feel it might push them onto other areas and promote them as a "Game species" Duh what? .I think they're way too smart to be trapped out as the program showed.
I have seen signs of them tearing up swampy wood areas in Lackawanna Co. but have not encountered one in the woods....

PS- I do love thick cut bacon though

Fine line between genius and insanity and I weave back and forth across it.

There might be some around, but it can't be too many. Otherwise, you would be seeing frequent success pics on this site.

Re: Wild Hogs in PA?

Go into the digest and it will tell you about killing them. You are allowed to do so except for certain areas/counties/WMA's where the Dept. of Ag and the PGC are trying to find ways to effectively trap/control them. Otherwise from what I understand they are fair game.........someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.........

John

Re: Wild Hogs in PA?

Several years ago, the Pa. Trappers Associatin was ask by the PGC for folks to sign up to trap Wild Hogs. Main area of the state was the Southwestern counties and scattered counties thoughout Pa.
I signed up and an offical Hog trapper.
Although I've never been contacted to control Wild Hogs. Maybe other folks in the problem areas are doing the work. I haven't heard much on this program since I signed up. Maybe others with insight will post.
