Re: hunting corn

Absolutely...Federal site. http://www.fws.gov/le/HuntFish/waterfowl_baiting.htm

Waterfowl Hunting on Agricultural Lands

Agricultural lands offer prime waterfowl hunting opportunities. You can hunt waterfowl in fields of unharvested standing crops. You can also hunt over standing crops that have been flooded. You can flood fields after crops are harvested and use these areas for waterfowl hunting.

The presence of seed or grain in an agricultural area rules out waterfowl hunting unless the seed or grain is scattered solely as the result of a normal agricultural planting, normal agricultural harvesting, normal agricultural post-harvest manipulation, or normal soil stabilization practice.

Re: hunting corn

Just be careful with using the USFWS rules as a bible. PA often has laws that rule over the FWS rules. FWS rules are a guide to what states CAN allow, but each state can make rules that are stricter(sp?) than the feds. Like as stated before, you must have permission to hunt from someones standing corn, different rules in PA when it comes to baiting doves, etc.

Re: hunting corn

I agree, was posting it more as a reference. I believe, or assume I guess I should say, that whenever getting permission from a farmer or landowner the common practice is to explain the hunting situation and location that it will be conducted on their property..again I said assume. Atleast that;s what we do..

None the less, good point Mccoy.

Re: hunting corn

Unless you hunt other states like De. and Md., you doh't really know about that stuff. Those states usually go right along with the FWS. PA usually goes a little stricter. Wasn't trying to jack your post or prove you wrong. Just making sure no one gets locked up to stupid stuff.
