cleaning d/ps

got to cleaning my d/ps that were in a pile in the shed. some were still set and baited. so we caught 2 more mice while they were laying there.

What are you or have you done to them to keep them from rusting really bad ? I just started using them this year and haven`t done anything but washed them so far but want to do something.

I dipped them in used cooking oil. it is a mess but seemed to help with the rust last year.

Might sound crazy, I waxed mine last year, helps alot with rust prevention.

i dyed and waxed mine. i got a pot of old wax i use for them and the sides of body grips.

Now your diggin' where the 'tators are!

I just dipped all of mine in Andy Stoe's when i got them. Just rinse them off when i'm done for the year. No issues.
