PA Archery Season Dates for fall 2012

I don't think the seasons for 2012-13 have been published yet. Anybody have an inside track or idea when the end of fall season will be? I am talking deer. Thanks

Probably Sept. 29 to Nov. 10 unless something drastic changes.

Thanks. I scheduled an archery hunt for Nov 12-16 in Ohio. Tried to time it after PA ended.

Are you going with an outfitter??? If so, may I ask who you're going with??? I'm looking at booking a hunt with Ohio Trophy Bucks next fall.

The only way it will ever run longer is if they get their act together and realize that if they run the bear season with archery season they will sell more tags.

That's the point. They want us out of the woods for peak breeding which is plus or minus a day around the 15th. Next year looks golden as archery will run to 11-16-13.

God Bless the USA.

My opinion archery should be open until the week before thanksgiving to take full advantage of the rut. My observations show peak big buck movement around peak breeding (Nov15th) - plus or minus a few days. Add another week and get rid of the early doe in which does nothing but make the buck you pattered all summer go nocturnal as the woods are invaded with hot sweaty hunters and late scouting pressure -In 2b you can hunt doe only Nov 12th to 24th as well. In year past when this window was open I had to pass on a few great deer while trying to harvest doe.

You "are" kidding right?

The rut begins long before the first week of November.
In "best" you may be referring to the "chase" phase when it's easy to see bucks running crazy from so much estrus in the air.

I've arrowed more, and bigger, bucks in October and the first week of November when bucks are scouting for estrus does than I have after November 10th.

In the early rut stages they are hanging with does along normal doe-travel routes and much easier to pattern.

Bear in mind, the PGC has already extended bow season into mid November.....................not that it would hurt to make it longer.
I'm all for more opportunity when it makes sense, but I have no complaint about "rut hunting" either.
