Does anybody hunt SGL 057? I saw a camp for sale near there and was wondering if it is worth a closer look. It is just West of the windmills. The closest town I think would be Noxen. Looks like there aren't a lot of camps in that area. might be an advantage. I know some areas of WMU 3B can be really hit or miss as far as deer that's why I ask.
Thanks
Keep an Eye out for pheasants, I’ve seen a bunch over the years cross the road there. Last Sunday on the way home I saw 2 in that location! Good luck brother.
My little brother is a beast an I’m proud of him🥲170 pound an carried it almost a mile like this. Again not 57 66 or 13 but Madison co NY. Just proud of the little but giant dude
A bear drug my son’s buck away. Head and cape. It was in a box in the pickup. Found the box in the driveway this morning and a tail a couple hundred yards away. Spend my morning looking. No luck. Bummer.
How far do you think it would drag it? I was hoping it would just drag it away from the house enough to gnaw on it in peace. We lost the track several hundred yards in.
Years ago my grandpop had one rip a doe off the meat pole. They followed the drag marks from our camp that was on coalmine rd by the gate if you know where that is almost all the way in to coalbed swamp. Never did find the deer
Did a quick stop at windy valley pheasant fields today. Figured I would hit it mid day as not to bother anyone set up above deer hunting. Lot had 4 vehicles when I arrived and was going to leave but while talking to one guy starting two guys left. They both had birds. So I wired up the hounds and let them run a rabbit 2 circles and we left. While I was there the vehicles changed in the lot with guys coming and going, some stopping to shout to me the question " did they stock here yesterday, any birds" LOL
Seems the bells on the bird dogs confused my hounds at first until they checked and seen the bigger dogs were chasing the stinky things. They have not run with bells this year yet so after the moment of confusion they found a cottontail and ran it up and down twice and I hooked them up and walked them out.
Had a guy ask me where my gun was and he just shook his head when I said the rabbit didn't do anything to me. Waugh!
JB. Good to see you hunting the good side of the mountain. Glad to see there are still some sportsman that chase small game.
