Pretty much any bullet out of a 300 RUM is devastating on deer!

Re: 300 RUM Loads

Some info from Berger regarding the 210 VLD.

RETUMBO is a good powder as is RE 25 and IMR 7828 SSC some load data below.
Load data was generated using Quick Load a 26 inch barrel a COAL (cartridge over all length) of 3.600 inches and your COAL and velocity could be a little different.
AS WITH ALL RELOADING APPROACH THE MAXIMUM LOADS WITH CAUTION AS ALL RIFLES AND RELOADING TECHNIQUES WILL BE DIFFERENT. If YOU CHANGE ANY OF YOUR COMPONENTS; THIS INCLUDES DIFFERENT POWDER LOT NUMBERS; YOU MUST REFIGURE YOUR LOADS BY STARTING WITH THE MINIMUM LOAD.
If we can be of any additional help feel free to contact us.
Thanks for your interest and have a great day.

Re: 300 RUM Loads

I thought I would share some more experience with the Berger VLD's. I found a load my 300 RUM really likes, 92 grains Retumbo behind a 210 Gr Berger VLD Hunting, with Fed 215 Primers.

Between my brother and I, we killed 3 elk this year. Two bulls and a cow.

My cow was dead on the first shot. Berger hit her hard, and put her in shock. I put 2 more in her but she was dead on number 1. (150-200 yards)

My bull was running around and after the first hit, stopped and stumbled. Put a couple more in him, but similar to the cow, I think he was in shock. (100 yards)
