Hot Bacon Dressing

5 strips bacon

1 cup water

1/3 cup vinegar

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup flour

2 large eggs

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan, but leave bacon drippings in pan. Remove pan from heat. Crumble bacon into little pieces and set aside.

In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, eggs and water. Add vinegar (it will look lumpy). Add milk - stir well.

Pour mixture into pan with bacon fat. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add 1/2 crumbled bacon pieces to mixture.

Pour hot dressing over endive or lettuce. Sprinkle remaining bacon on top. Serve immediately.
